MMPRC as official destination partner for Air Services Congress 2024

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has announced its role as the official destination partner for the prestigious 7th Air Services Congress 2024. The announcement was made during an event at the Noovilu Seaplane Terminal of Velana International Airport, where MMPRC signed the agreement.

The event saw the participation of the CEO and Managing Director of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), Deputy Managing Directors, senior management, and various partners. The congress, scheduled for July 9-11, 2024, at Kurumba Maldives, is expected to attract 300 delegates from around the world.

During the ceremony, CEO and Managing Director of MACL Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed stressed that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has prioritized the development of Velana International Airport through a visionary master plan aimed at driving national prosperity via aviation development, in line with the growth of the tourism sector. He further highlighted Velana International Airport as the core of this transformation, expanding alongside the booming economy and attracting more global connections.

Furthermore, MMPRC conveyed its anticipation of forming new partnerships and expanding networks, aiming to increase air service to local islands and boost the number of annual visitors. It underscored the Maldives' emergence into a new era of air travel, expressing excitement about the global recognition positioning Velana International Airport and the Maldives as a distinctive, must-visit destination.

The Air Service World Congress 2024 will be the first aviation route development event in the Maldives, bringing international delegates together to discuss the future of the aviation sector, enhancing the brand recognition of both Velana International Airport and the Maldives.
