Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef, while officiating the graduation ceremony of the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM), praised the institution's pivotal role in nurturing youth who uphold Islamic faith and values. He expressed optimism that IUM graduates would be instrumental in maintaining religious unity and fostering Islamic brotherhood in the Maldives. He further noted the sacrifices made by those pursuing higher education, especially those studying abroad, and emphasised the present administration's commitment to alleviating these challenges.
Addressing the graduates, the Vice President stressed the importance of prioritizing national interests and social stability in their professional pursuits. He highlighted the crucial role of academic research and the value of continuous learning through reading, urging graduates to actively contribute to the nation's development while remaining grounded in their Islamic principles.
The ceremony celebrated the accomplishments of 494 students, reinforcing IUM’s status as a leading higher education provider in the Maldives. The remarks by the Vice President underscored the administration's dedication to supporting higher education and fostering an educated, unified populace.
