All graduates must have high-degree of discipline: Mafaz

Justice of Supreme Court Mahaz Ali Zahir has underscored the crucial importance of high-level of discipline instilled in all students graduating from their higher studies. The remarks were made by Justic Mahaz during the graduation ceremony of Islamic University of Maldives (IUM).

Speaking at the ceremony, Justice Mahaz illuminated certain undesirable behaviours observed among graduates of higher education. Mafaz stressed the imperative of mitigating such practices and cultivating Islamic moral principles and exemplary discipline. Despite the increasing number of graduates in recent years, Justice Mahaz remarked on the absence of positive behavioural transformations. Encouraging the graduates to diligently endeavour to rectify societal behavioural shortcomings, particularly through refined language, Justice Mahaz articulated that students pursuing education should continuously strive for knowledge acquisition with keen interest.

Noting that IUM is a significant educational institution in the nation, Justice Mahaz emphasised the importance of the students who graduate from IUM should be different from those who graduate from other universities. As such, he stressed the significance of Islamic morals and values to be instilled in all IUM graduates.

Highlighting the lack of creative writings is a complaint emerging among students seeking education, Justice Mahaz urged all the graduates to promote and utilise their skills in creative writing.
