PSM will get full support from councils for Palestine telethon: Minister

Minister for Cities, Local Government, and Public Works Adam Shareef Umar has affirmed that the Public Service Media (PSM) will receive full cooperation from local councils for the “Maldives with Palestine” telethon. He made the statement during PSM's coverage of the event.

Minister Adam Shareef emphasised that local councils have made thorough preparations for the telethon. They have arranged fund boxes and deposit facilities across the islands, ensuring readiness to support any government initiative to aid Palestine.

He also explained that PSM has meticulously planned the telethon to ensure all funds raised go directly to support Palestinian Muslims. Minister Adam Shareef highlighted the strong empathy Maldivians feel for Palestinian Muslims, especially in light of the Israeli military attacks, noting that the suffering of Palestinian Muslims deeply resonates with every Maldivian.

Initiated at the request of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, the telethon features 13 fund boxes set up in the Greater Male' Region. For those unable to access the boxes, two accounts have been opened for online donations: 7730000655865 for Maldivian Rufiyaa (MVR) and 7730000655866 for United States Dollars (USD).

Unlike previous telethons where organizers charged fees, PSM will not deduct any money from the funds raised.
