President urges to elevate nationwide efforts advocating for Palestinian rights

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has emphasised the need to elevate advocacy efforts for Palestinians during the inauguration of the "Maldives with Palestine" telethon, organised by the Public Service Media (PSM) to facilitate aid for Palestinians. The telethon reflects President Muizzu's unwavering commitment to supporting Palestine and condemning the violence perpetrated by Israeli forces.

In his address, President Muizzu highlighted the Maldives' longstanding support for the Palestinian cause, noting that the nation has consistently assisted Palestinians in various ways over the years. He acknowledged a growing public engagement in defending Palestinian rights, stressing the importance of intensifying nationwide advocacy efforts to champion their cause. This growing vocal support reflects a significant shift in public awareness and involvement in the issue.

President Muizzu emphasised the ongoing violence in Palestine transcends a mere bilateral conflict, impacting the broader Islamic Ummah. He called for proactive engagement from the entire Muslim community to advocate for rights and justice in such critical situations. He underscored that the plight of Palestinians represents a profound issue for Muslims globally, necessitating immediate and prompt support.

Moreover, President Muizzu reaffirmed the urgency of providing aid to Palestinians, warning that without timely intervention, opportunities to support their cause may diminish. His remarks underscore the Maldives' firm commitment to solidarity with Palestine and its role in the broader context of advocating for justice and human rights.
