The national airline, Maldivian, has announced that its flight bound for Trivandrum, India, had to return to Velana International Airport (VIA) due to a technical issue.
Flight Q2700, with 99 passengers on board, safely landed back at VIA soon after departure, and the airline's engineers are now diligently investigating the matter. Although the flight was canceled, arrangements are underway for another one.
The national airline extends its apologies to passengers for any inconvenience caused by the cancellation.
