Expatriate found dead in Addu City

An expatriate from Nepal has been found dead in the southernmost Addu City of the Maldives.

The Maldives Police Service reported that the body was discovered in the sea after the individual went missing after going to dispose garbage in the Feydhoo district. The body was found and reported to the police around 0940hrs, June 26.

Upon recovery, the expatriate was taken to the local Health Center, where doctors confirmed that the individual was already deceased upon arrival. The medical examination revealed no external injuries on the body.

The Maldives Police Service has stated that further investigations are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
