President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced the renaming of several institutions under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and designated their official English names. This decision was made at the President's discretion, as permitted by Section 116 (a) of the Constitution of the Republic of the Maldives.
The newly renamed institutions are, Permanent Mission of the Republic of Maldives to the United Nations, Permanent Mission of the Republic of Maldives to the United Nations Office at Geneva, Embassy of the Republic of Maldives in the Kingdom of Belgium and Mission of the Republic of Maldives to the European Union.
In addition to these renaming, President Dr. Muizzu has designated the official English names for other institutions under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
