High Court addresses 132 cases within first six months

High Court of Maldives have indicated it has addressed a total of 132 cases within the first six months of the year. Statistics released show that this amount is less compared to the number of cases resolved within the same duration last year, with a total of 181 cases.

The details of the cases the court addressed monthly are as follows; 26 cases in January, 43 cases in February, 13 cases in March, 17 cases in April, 13 cases in May and 15 cases in June. The cases include three familial issues, two cases on information commission, 25 cases regarding employment, 48 cases criminal cases, one constitutional case and 48 civil cases.

While a total of 97 cases were submitted to the court during this timeframe, decisions have been made to not investigate 51 cases and 75 cases have been registered in the court.
