Gov't affirms no difficulties to students seeking education

Minister of Higher Education, Labour, and Skill Development Dr. Maryam Mariya has reassured students that the government is committed to ensuring a seamless experience for those pursuing higher education both domestically and internationally. Currently, 2,163 students are enrolled in higher education programs, either within the Maldives or abroad.

The Ministry acknowledges occasional delays in disbursing course fees and living allowances, attributing these delays to late document submissions and the time required for universities to confirm students' enrollment status. To streamline these processes, the ministry plans to implement automated systems that expedite verification and improve service quality for students.

In a statement, Dr. Mariya emphasised the government's dedication to removing any obstacles students may face in pursuing higher education, both locally and internationally. Furthermore, the ministry highlighted its commitment to nurturing individuals and enhancing their contributions to national progress.

The ministry also expressed concern over the dissemination of unsubstantiated rumors on important national matters and called for responsible reporting to avoid unnecessary public concern.
