Vice President stresses national commitment to peace and unity

Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef has emphasised the paramount importance of preserving global trust in the Maldives' peace and unity while safeguarding against extremist ideologies, during his address at the National High-Level Conference on Peace and Security at CROSSROADS Maldives.

Highlighting peace as foundational to the Maldivian society's progress and harmony, Vice President credited the nation's peaceful nature and values of compassion, patience, and unity for its reputation as a haven on earth. He underscored the necessity of maintaining international confidence in Maldives' harmonious ethos as a national imperative.

The Vice President outlined the conference's objectives, stressing its role in fostering collaboration among state institutions to promote peace, societal cohesion, and resilience. He emphasised the need for concerted efforts to enhance safety and security, outlining the conference's mission to set future safety goals and implement corresponding measures.
