Members have been elected for the Maldivian branches of the Global Organization of Parliamentarians Against Corruption (GOPAC) and Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). As both organisations are specialised for parliamentarians working in the legislative body, the members were elected within the parliamentarians.
Speaker of the Parliament Abdul Raheem Abdullah and Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Ahmed Nazim, both individuals were elected as the chair and vice chair of the IPU and GOPAC Maldivian branches, without any competition. Other members were elected based on votes within the members of the Parliament. During the election, six members were elected for the IPU branch in addition to the chair and vice chair, while five members were elected for the GOPAC branch in addition to the chair and vice chair.

The IPU is a global organisation of national parliaments. The IPU was established in 1989. The Parliament passed a resolution on November 4, 2004, to become a member of the union. Guidelines to establish Maldivian branches of the IPU were approved on June 6, 2006.
GOPAC is an international organisation made up of parliamentarians from around the world working together to combat corruption, strengthen good governance and uphold the rule of law. While the Parliament approved the Maldives to become a member of the organisation on March 20, 2023, the Maldives has got its membership on April 5, 2023.
