Maldives, Finland discuss enhancing the education and tourism sector

Ambassador of Finland to the Maldives Kimmo Lähdevirta presented his Letters of Credence to the President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu at a ceremony held at the President's Office. The Ambassador was escorted to the President’s Office from the Republic Square in a cultural procession “Haiykolhu” with MNDF Drum and Trumpet Band.

Following the presentation, the President and the Ambassador discussed expanding collaboration between the two nations, particularly in education sector, capacity building, tourism sector, climate change, and renewable energy.

Diplomatic Relations between the Maldives and Finland were established on 01 October 1984. The Ambassador is accredited to the Maldives as non-resident Ambassador and resides in New Delhi, India.
