Ambassador of Lao People's Democratic Republic to the Maldives Bounmy Vanmany presented his Letters of Credence to the President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu at a ceremony held at the President's Office. The Ambassador was escorted to the President’s Office from the Republic Square in a cultural procession “Haiykolhu” with MNDF Drum and Trumpet Band.
Following the presentation, the President and Ambassador discussed on working together in areas of mutual interest and collaborating closely to overcome challenges faced by both countries.
Diplomatic Relations between the Maldives and Lao People's Democratic Republic were established on 10 February 2012. The ambassador is accredited to the Maldives as non-resident Ambassador and resides in New Delhi, India.
