National Quran Competition to be a highly awarded: President

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that the National Quran Competition will be the most prestigious and highly awarded competition starting next year. The President made the announcement at the closing of the 36th National Quran Competition, held at the Islamic Centre's meeting hall.

Speaking at the ceremony, the President Dr. Muizzu stated that committing to promoting and achieving victory for the Islamic faith is considered a national duty and that spreading knowledge of the holy Quran will receive the highest priority. Highlighting the significance of the holy Quran in this world and in the hereafter, the president stated that observing the improvement in the skills of those reciting the Quran brings happiness and satisfaction.

Noting that the spiritual book is the guide in which all Muslims are obligated to follow, President Dr. Muizzu stated that the lives of all Muslims should be shaped around the Quran. Therefore, the president affirmed that the current administration will give special priority to make the Holy Quran the most important guide in the lives of the rising generation. As such, he reaffirmed his commitment in making the National Quran Competition into the most prestigious and highly awarded competitions starting next year.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Dr. Muizzu emphasised the importance of setting up a dedicated facility to educate and promote the knowledge of the Quran. The president announced that land would be allocated for the reconstruction of the National Centre for the Holy Quran in line with the administration's manifesto.

He further revealed that the government is extremely interested in giving the Quran the rightful status and place in this country. He also urged all individuals to ensure that their actions align with the Islamic principles and the Quran, while attaining knowledge from the holy scripture.
