President's Scholarship awarded to 19 students

The President's Scholarship have been awarded to 19 students. The ceremony held to award the President’s Scholarship and the High Achievers' Scholarship was attended President Dr. Muizzu, accompanied by First Lady Mariyam Sajidha.

Among the recipients of the President’s Scholarship and High Achievers' Scholarship awarded letters, 136 students achieved academic excellence in five subjects in their higher secondary examinations. As such, 19 students were awarded the President’s Scholarship, while an additional 117 students were awarded the High Achievers’ Scholarship for achieving an A or higher grade in their higher secondary examinations. A total of 1,407 students took the examinations in 2023 from 45 examination centres across the Maldives.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Higher Education, Skills and Labour Development Dr. Mariyam Marya congratulated all the students who received the prestigious scholarships. She stated that the bright opportunity comes with responsibilities of serving, urging students to work hard and pursue their higher studies with new aims.

The presidential scholarship is awarded to students who successfully achieve at least five A stars or a higher grade in their higher secondary education. The High Achiever's Scholarship is awarded to students who achieved an A or higher grade in their higher secondary examinations.
