Foreign Minister to undertake an official visit to China

Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that Minister Moosa Zameer is scheduled to embark on an official trip to China.

A statement released by the ministry discloses that the visit is slated to occur from June 20 - 24, following an invitation extended by the Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Wang Yi.

The minister's itinerary includes official talks with his Chinese counterpart, and meetings with the senior officials of the Chinese government. He will also be meeting with key Chinese companies that have played a pivotal role in the economic development of the Maldives.

During the visit, Minister Zameer will be accompanied by the Minister of Finance, Dr. Mohamed Shafeeq, Minister of Construction and Infrastructure Dr. Abdul Muththlib, and senior officials of the Maldivian government.
