President appoints first female Customs Commissioner General

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Fathimath Dhiyana as Commissioner General of Customs.

Dhiyana was appointed to the post at a ceremony held at the President's Office. She is the first female Commissioner General of Customs. Her assignment to the post comes following the reassignment of the former Commissioner General Yoosuf Maaniu Mohamed to the Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology as a State Minister.

The appointment was made under the authority granted to the President by Article 6(b) of the Maldives Customs Act. Dhiyana is appointed at the level of Minister of State, serving as Commissioner General of Customs. Before her appointment, she held the position of Deputy Commissioner of Customs.
