The National Council of the opposition party, Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has appointed Hisaan Hussain as the party's vice president. She was approved with the unanimous votes of the Council.
According to the rules of MDP, a vice president will be appointed for the party by the National Council, following the recommendation of the party's president. As such, Hisaan's name was proposed by the President of MDP Abdulla Shahid.
Following her appointment to the post, Shahid recognised Hisaan's commitment and devoted services to the party. Shahid also expressed confidence on Hisaan's capability to fulfil her duties and responsibilities as a vice president.
