Principal Secretary to the President on Public Policy Abdulla Nazim has highlighted that knowing the vision of the company would increase job satisfaction of employees. He made the remarks at the newly launched award ceremony of the Maldives Association of HR Professionals (MAHRP), HR Excellence Awards.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Nazim said that the employees would pay more attention to their work if they knew the company's goals and vision. He noted that it is the responsibility of HR workers to explain the company's vision and objectives to the employees.
Furthermore, Nazim noted that studies show that job satisfaction increases by 33% if the employees are informed of how meaningful their work is. He stated that this also reduces the number of employees leaving their jobs by 50%. He added that the newly introduced awards will encourage those working in the field of human resource training and management to advance.
President of MAHRP Ahmed Ibrahim notes that the aim of the HR Excellence Award is to recognize those working in the field and facilitate their development. The newly introduced MAHRP HR Excellence Awards are divided into two categories: awards for companies and awards for individuals.
Three awards were given for individuals: the Outstanding HR Leader of the Year, Emerging HR Leaders, Excellence in Woman HR Leadership Award.
MAHRP established in 2018, works to promote the HR sector in Maldives. The association annually holds a major gathering of HR professionals, the National HR Convention and Expo. MAHRP aim to hold the award ceremony every two years.
