Special Achievement Award to open for nominations on August 1

The Special Awards Committee will open nominations for the President's Award for Special Achievement on August 1.

Nomination forms for the award are available through the designated portal on the President's Office website. Interested parties can submit nominations until 1400hrs on September 16. The award is conferred to individuals whose skills and performance are a source of national pride and who have made substantial contributions to national progress. The awards will feature four categories this year.

The four categories in which the awards will be given are as follows:

  • Individuals who attained significant achievements in higher education and training.
  • Individuals who have achieved excellence or the highest rank in an international competition or exhibition.
  • Individuals who have presented practical resolutions or outstanding solutions by conducting academic research on critical national challenges.
  • Individuals with exceptional creativity and innovation that enhance national development.


The committee stated that has requested individuals interested to submit their names along with the relevant documents which are attested by a lawyer from the Bar Council of the Maldives.

The President's Award for Special Achievement will be conferred the award during the official function held to mark the Republic Day.
