India to hold a roadshow promoting the Maldives

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), in collaboration with the Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) and the National Hotels and Guesthouses Association of Maldives (NHGAM) are making the final preparations for the upcoming series of roadshows in India. The Welcome India roadshow aims to strengthen the position of the Maldives as a premier holiday destination for Indian travellers with activities in three major cities.

The roadshow series is scheduled to start on July 30 at New Delhi, and continue on August 01 at Mumbai, ending on August 3 at Bangalore. The high-profile event will bring together leading industry stakeholders from both countries, providing a platform to nurture new partnerships, strengthen existing ties, and showcase the unparalleled beauty and diversity of the country. The Maldives will be represented by the Minister of Tourism Ibrahim Faisal and Advisor to the President on Tourism Development Mohamed Khaleel.

The primary objective of the Welcome India roadshow is to showcase the pristine beaches, luxurious resorts, guest houses, and rich cultural heritage of the Maldives throughout the three cities. India is a vital source market for the Maldives, with over 70,000 tourists from India visting tthe Maldives last year. The roadshow intends to capitalise on this growing demand and solidify the Maldives’ position as a top-of-mind destination for Indian travellers.
