President offers condolences to Abdul Latheef, lauding his economic impact

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has expressed his condolences over the passing of Abdul Latheef Hussein Manik (Athama Abdul Latheef), highlighting his significant role in fostering positive economic changes in the Maldives.

In his condolence message, President Dr. Muizzu praised Abdul Latheef for his numerous charitable contributions. He said that it included the construction of a mosque and organising Hajj pilgrimages for pilgrims.

Additionally, President Dr. Muizzu commended Abdul Latheef for his leadership among Maldivian businessmen, demonstrating the capability of the Maldivian people to achieve great work independently. He acknowledged Abdul Latheef's pioneering efforts in investing in public welfare and advancing religious causes. Abdul Latheef's outstanding service to the community was recognised with the National Award in 1991.

Furthermore, President Dr. Muizzu offered prayers for the bereaved family and asked for the eternal blessings of the Almighty Allah for the deceased.

Abdul Latheef, aged 94, passed away at ADK Hospital while receiving treatment. He was known for his extensive business ventures in the Maldives. He also made significant contributions to education, mosque construction, and Hajj pilgrimages.
