Maraandhoo council by-election scheduled for September

The Elections Commission of Maldives (ECM) has stated that the by-election of the Maarandhoo Island Council to elect a member of the council has been scheduled for September 14. The by-election is being held following the death of Ahmed Rameez, who was the vice-president of the council.

The Election Commission has published the voter's list of the election on the government gazette and the commission’s website. The commission has also opened the registry for complaints. The complaint form is also available on the ECM website.

Complaints to the voter's list are open until 1500 hrs, August 11. As of now, 736 people are eligible to vote in the by-election.
