The Secretary General of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Md. Golam Sarwar has arrived on an introductory visit to the Maldives.
During the visit, Secretary General Sarwar is scheduled to call on the President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Moosa Zameer. He will also meet with Foreign Secretary Fathimath Inaya during his visit.
Secretary General Sarwar is scheduled to conclude his visit and depart on August 8. He is accompanied by his spouse Taslima Sarwar, and Director, SAARC Secretariat Shahiya Ali Manik, and SAARC Secretariat Bhavesh R. Trivedi.
Secretary General Sarwar assumed charge as the 15th Secretary-General of the SAARC in October 2023.
