Maldives to advocate with countries to address Palestine issue

Minister of Foreign Affairs Moosa Zameer has stated that the Maldives will advocate for international collaborative efforts to address the Palestine issue in the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Conference. The statement was made by the minister at a special interview given to PSM News, prior to his departure to Saudi Arabia.

During the interview, Minister Zameer affirmed that Maldives will call on the all global leaders to take actions to stop the ongoing acts of genocide committed by Israel against Palestinians. The minister added that there will be discussions to ensure that Palestine is recognised as a sovereign nation by more countries.

The Extraordinary Open-ended Meeting of the OIC Executive Committee aims to address the brutal Israeli aggression against the Palestinians. The OIC meeting is being held at the invitation of Palestine and Iran, following the ongoing acts of genocide committed by Israel in Palestine and the assassination of Former Hamas leader in the Gaza Strip Ismail Haniyeh.

Foreign Minister is scheduled to deliver a speech at the one-day meeting in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
