Maldives to experience a revolutionary development: Speaker

Speaker of the Parliament Abdul Raheem Abdulla has expressed confidence the Maldives will experience revolutionary changes in terms of development, during the tenure of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. The remarks were made by the speaker during the meeting held at the People's National Congress (PNC's) Party Hall.

In his address, Speaker Abdul Raheem shed light on the unique strategies and policies utilised by President Dr. Muizzu. Highlighting that the financial situation of the nation was at a vulnerable state when the current administration assumed office, the speaker emphasised the dedicated efforts of the president to overcome the situation. He expressed confidence that the Maldives will experience significant and transformative development during this tenure, adding that the president is exerting maximum efforts to fulfil his pledges outlined in the government's manifesto.

Underscoring that leaders become leaders with reliance and support, Speaker Abdul Raheem affirmed to provide support to protect the presidency in all circumstances. Despite some critics saying that no work is being done by the Parliament, the speaker stated that several works are ongoing in the Parliament, which are commended by President Dr. Muizzu and the residents as well. He noted the president and the current administration was elected with a great victory in the presidential and parliamentary elections.
