Maldives and India discuss strengthening defence ties between the two nations. The discussions were held with India's Minister of External Affairs Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and Maldives' Minister of Defence Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon.
In a post shared on social media, Minister Ghassan stated that the meeting was productive and pertained to defence and security cooperation. The ministers discussed areas of future collaboration in protecting Indian Ocean peace and stability and agreed to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of both states.
The meeting was attended by senior officials of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) and some delegates accompanying Minister Jaishankar.
