The national airline, Maldivian has decided to bring additional three ATR aircrafts to it's fleet, under its efforts to modernise its fleet. Interested parties can submit their proposals before August 29.

IASL has drafted a schedule to monitor the pace in which the aircrafts are brought. According to the schedule, the first ATR must arrive in December, while the second ATR must arrive in August 2025. Meanwhile, the third ATR aircraft will be brought on October 2026.

While IASL has announced seeking additional ATR aircrafts, it has introduced an ATR aircraft to it's fleet in May. In the ceremony held to mark the arrival of the aircraft, IASL's Managing Director Ibrahim Iyas highlighted the progress of the company's operations, with the assistance of the ATR. He noted that orders have been placed for additional three ATR's, adding that two of them will arrive during December, or within the first quarter of 2026. The third ATR will also be arriving in the first quarter of 2026.

Currently, Maldivian's fleet operates with a total of 25 aircrafts. This includes the Airbus A320, four ATR's, nineDash-8 aircrafts and 11 DHC-6 Twin Otter.
