MMPRC launches "Discover Maldives" webinar series to strengthen global presence

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has launched the “Discover Maldives” webinar series, a global initiative designed to enhance the Maldives' presence as a premier travel destination and engage travel trade professionals worldwide. The series aims to provide in-depth insights into the diverse tourism offerings of the Maldives, attracting more visitors from key and emerging markets.

The inaugural webinar for the French market, held on August 21, 2024, kicked off the series. Each webinar targets around 60-80 travel professionals and trade media, conducted in local languages to facilitate effective communication with travel agents and tour operators. The first session featured presentations by industry partners, including Adaaran Resorts & Heritance Aarah, Angsana Velavaru, and Intercontinental Maldives Maamunagau. These properties showcased their unique products, services, and experiences, underscoring the Maldives' allure as a top travel destination.

The "Discover Maldives" webinar series aims to maintain and boost tourist arrivals from key markets such as China, Russia, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, India, the United States, France, Spain, and Switzerland. Additionally, it seeks to attract visitors from emerging markets by highlighting the Maldives' diverse tourism products and experiences that cater to different preferences and interests.

Over the past eight months, the Maldives has seen significant growth in tourist arrivals from these top markets, reinforcing the destination's appeal. Through this webinar series, MMPRC aims to solidify the Maldives’ position as a top-of-mind destination for global travelers, ensuring that the Sunny Side of Life continues to captivate and draw visitors from around the world.
