Islamic Minister emphasises gov't commitment to promoting Islam

Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has emphasised that the government, under the leadership of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, remains committed to upholding and developing the cause principles of Islam. He made the remarks during the opening ceremony of the annual meeting of Religious Scholars of the Maldives.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Shaheem reaffirmed the dedication of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs to supporting all efforts aimed at preserving and promoting Islam. He also acknowledged the significant contributions of religious scholars to various initiatives undertaken by the ministry.

Additionally, Minister Shaheem highlighted President Dr. Muizzu's pivotal role in the successes achieved by the Islamic ministry, stating that the current administration will continue to promote the cause of Islam. He referred to this period as a golden opportunity to expand Islamic services in the Maldives and guide the nation.

Furthermore, Minister Shaheem provided an overview of the ongoing projects by the Islamic ministry. The minister described the projects as crucial in inspiring the younger generation to embrace and lead the Islamic movement.

The annual meeting of religious scholars is being held at the Islamic Centre in Male' City. The event was also attended by Chairman of Jam'iyyath Wofod al-Haram, Dr. Hamdan Bin Humaid Bin Buraik AlSulami. Over 100 scholars are participating in this year's meeting, which will address various issues and seek the scholars' guidance on shaping a national Islamic vision and the ministry's religious activities.
