Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed has reiterated the government's aims of establishing a convenient environment for businesses.
Speaking at the ceremony held to launch the National Single Window "Tradian", Minister Saeed lauded the government's efforts of achieving this goal, despite the challenges it encountered. The minister revealed that works to establish the single window commenced in 2016, noting that the launch of its first phase of services was remarkable progress. Highlighting the government's efforts to modernise the business environment, he said that efforts are underway to introduce e-wallets and PayPal services in the Maldives.
Furthermore, Minister Saeed stated that there were several talented young individuals in the society. Noting that no efforts were previously exerted to introduce businesses to the global market, the minister revealed that the government is working to establish a green environment for businesses with the neighbouring countries as well.
