Minister of Dhivehi Language, Culture, and Heritage, Adam Naseer Ibrahim has likened the reform initiatives of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to those of the national hero, As-Sulṭaan al-Ghaazee Mohamed Thakurufaanu al-A'uẓam (Bodu Thakurufaanu).
Speaking at the National Day commemoration ceremony, Minister Adam Naseer highlighted the presence of reformers throughout Maldivian history. He noted that Mohamed Thakurufaanu’s reign came at a time when the Maldives urgently needed reforms, particularly during the Portuguese occupation, which necessitated significant efforts to secure national independence.
Minister Adam Naseer emphasised the positive and lasting impact of Thakurufaanu's reforms and drew parallels to the current initiatives led by President Dr. Muizzu. He stressed the importance of celebrating National Day, reminding the public that the pursuit of national independence and sovereignty is an ongoing journey.
