Parliamentarian and leader of the Jumhooree Party, Qasim Ibrahim has commended President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s performance at the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), stating that it has showcased the Maldives as a nation ready to voice its concerns on the global stage.
In a social media message, Qasim acknowledged that despite the Maldives being geographically small, its leaders have actively participated in UNGA sessions, representing the country and addressing various challenges faced both locally and globally. He noted that President Muizzu’s representation was both thoughtful and appropriate.
Qasim highlighted that the President exemplified qualities of pride, courage, strength, foresight, knowledge, and skill, showcasing an optimistic vision for the country’s development and a willingness to speak boldly before the world. He expressed gratitude to the President for providing a strong example for the nation and its citizens, particularly by articulating the vision for the Maldives to become a fully developed country by 2040, coinciding with the 75th anniversary of its independence.
