No job losses despite changes at Madivaru Airport operations: IASL

Island Aviation Service Limited (IASL) has assured that no employees will lose their jobs despite upcoming changes in the operation of Madivaru Airport, Lhaviyani Atoll.

The airport was developed by Kuredu Holdings Private Limited and is currently operated by IASL under an agreement set to expire on October 16. Although the airport employs 22 staff members, IASL has confirmed that all will retain their positions. IASL also said that discussions are ongoing with Kuredu Holdings to ensure the national airline, Maldivian, will continue its flights to the airport.

Madivaru Airport was inaugurated in 2022. It features a 1,200-meter runway, an aircraft parking area, a fire station, and a modern terminal.
