Ministry of Education has revealed that the educational policies will be drafted after considering the advice from experts within the field.
In an interview with PSM News, Minister of State for Education Dr. Ahmed Adeel Naseer stated that the seventh International Teacher's Conference was a successful and a fruitful conference. The state minister revealed that the conference saw comprehensive discussions on the research papers submitted. He also said that the discussions focused on the challenges teachers face in ensuring the provision of education inclusively, and potential solutions to address the issues.
Furthermore, State Minister Adeel noted that the conference showed more improvement in the education sector compared to the problems. The state minister reaffirmed his commitment in exerting more efforts to ensure that more quality research papers are submitted for the upcoming conferences. He further revealed that the government's aim is to draft educational policies after conducting research and holding extensive discussions with the experts in the field, assuring that the proposals submitted in the conference will also be taken into consideration.
The International Teachers' Conference, is biannually held by the National Institute of Education (NIE). A total of 250 individuals participated in this year's two-day conference. The Ministry of Education revealed that 60 research papers and four case studies were submitted, with two keynotes and two panel discussions slated to take place during the conference.
The theme for the seventh edition of the International Teachers' Conference is "Educate, Empower, Elevate: Equitable Education for Twenty-First Century Excellence." Each edition's theme is selected based on current educational trends. The seminar aims to foster a research culture among teachers, connect the Maldives with international academic communities. It also aims to provide a platform for local and international stakeholders to share their work, ultimately contributing to positive changes in school teaching practices based on scientific research.
