The Bank of Maldives (BML) has opened a self-service banking ATM centre in Gaafaru, Kaafu Atoll, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance banking services across the nation.
Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BML Aishath Nooruddin highlighted that with the launch of this ATM in Gaafaru, the bank now operates self-service ATM centres in six other residential islands, in addition to two branches in Kaafu Atoll. She also emphasised that the new facility in Gaafaru exemplifies the bank’s commitment to extending convenient banking services to its customers.
The construction of the ATM centre was supported by the State Electric Company Limited (STELCO). In a social media post, Managing Director at STELCO Hussain Fahmy expressed pride in contributing to the project. He also noted that such initiatives reflect the government’s efforts under President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to promote the development of the country’s islands.
BML stated that the new ATM centre will offer 24-hour services, including cash withdrawals, deposits, bill payments, and transfers for both individuals and businesses. With a national scope, BML operates 39 branches, 89 self-service banking centres, 144 ATMs, cash agent services, and cutting-edge online banking services throughout the 20 atolls of the Maldives.
