The Election Commission of the Maldives has launched a new feature that allows individuals to request documents containing information about their registered political parties through its online portal. This initiative is part of the Commission's efforts to enhance accessibility by transitioning more services to an online platform, making it easier and faster for users to access information.
As of the October 20, registered members can conveniently request documents related to their political parties online. Those not affiliated with any party can also submit requests through the portal.
Previously, obtaining this information required sending letters or emails to the Commission. The move to an online system reflects the Commission’s commitment to modernizing and digitizing its services. It offers instant access to submission results. Users wishing to withdraw from their political party membership can now do so online, replacing the former "Political Party Register Complaint Form."
To use the portal, individuals simply need to log in with their e-pass. The main portal now provides four key services: re-registration during elections, applications to become Election Commission officials, request to withdraw from political parties, and various election-related information.
