Ministry opens complaint process for Gulhifalhu land allocations

The Ministry of Housing, Land, and Urban Development has initiated a complaint submission process concerning the re-drawing of land plots in Gulhifalhu. Following a recent draw to allocate land, the Ministry has released a list detailing form numbers, lot numbers, and plot sizes.

The draw included participants from the Binveriya Scheme; individuals awaiting their land allocations, and those who transferred plots from Giravarufalhu to Gulhifalhu, necessitated by updates to the land use plan.

Minister Ali Haidar assured that beneficiaries of the Binveriya Scheme will have their land plots officially registered, with this process expected to be completed in the coming months. He emphasised that the land will be formally handed over after the completion of the Thilamala Bridge. While registration cannot be issued for dredged land due to regulations, beneficiaries will receive a document confirming their entitlement.

A total of 3,520 were, including those relocated from Giravarufalhu to Gulhifalhu. The Dutch company Boskalis has completed dredging 150 hectares in Gulhifalhu, and President Mohammed Muizzu has ordered the excavation of an additional 85 hectares.
