The government has prepared to prioritise private insurances, as the first step in reforming the national health insurance scheme, Aasandha. This initiative aims to reduce expenses, particularly wasteful expenditures, associated with the scheme.
The National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) stated that decisions have been made to prioritise private insurance in billing individuals who seek outpatient and inpatient healthcare services. This change is part of the government's broader efforts to reform and enhance the Aasandha scheme. The NSPA clarified that individuals whose private insurance does not cover specific services or has expired will still receive coverage under Aasandha. NSPA encourages all individuals to obtain a receipt when accessing services from Aasandha and to report illegal service provider.
Aasandha Company Private Limited has reported a concerning annual increase in its expenses, which has raised alarms among relevant authorities. The company has highlighted the challenges it faces in providing services to those most in need, as the current system permits all indivudals to access services equally. In response, the government is working to ensure that Aasandha prioritises those who require its services the most.
