Met Office forecasts unfavourable weather for the next three days

Maldives Meteorological Service (Met Office) has forecasts unfavourable weather conditions for the upcoming three days.

In a statement released, the Met Office stated that a low-level circulation has been formed as the Maldives experiences a transition from the rainy season (southwest monsoon) to the hot and dry season (north-east monsoon). As a result, heavy rainfalls were experienced by majority areas of the country within the past 24hrs.

According to the Met Office, Hithadhoo, Addu City recorded the heaviest rainfall with 110mm of rain. It further anticipated unfavourable weather across the nation for the next three days, urging all individuals to remain cautious of the weather conditions.

The heavy rainfall has led to flooding of roads and households in Male' City as well some other islands. Therefore, it is important to take precautionary measures to minimising the loss faced in such situations.
