President Muizzu congratulates winners of PNC internal elections

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, in his capacity as the President of the ruling People’s National Congress (PNC), has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the winners of the party’s internal elections.

In a social media post, President Muizzu congratulated all successful candidates and expressed his deep appreciation for those who contested for various positions. He also acknowledged the efforts of the organisers and the invaluable contributions of those who ensured the smooth execution of the electoral process.

The President further thanked the voters for their active participation, highlighting their role in strengthening the party’s democratic framework. Similarly, the Vice President of PNC, Hussain Mohamed Lateef, conveyed his congratulations to all candidates, with special recognition for those who emerged victorious.

The PNC internal elections saw a significant voter turnout, with 143 ballot boxes set up across the country, including 53 in the capital, Malé. Voting took place over four hours, with 667 candidates contesting for various positions in 90 islands, including Malé. A total of 34,904 eligible voters participated, making it one of the largest internal elections ever held by a political party in the Maldives.
