Nomination Deadline for Disability Award Extended

Nomination deadline for the Disability Award had been extended, the Disability Council says. 

The award was introduced by the Gender Ministry and the Disability Council in recognition of individuals and organisations for the protection of the rights of the disabled. The Ministry opened nominations for the award on May 18, with the deadline set for June 30. However, the deadline has now been extended to July 31. 

Disability Council President Ahmed Athif said the deadline was extended following requests due to difficulties in acquiring relevant documents needed for submitting nomination papers. The Disability Award will be presented in September.
