President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom sent a message of sympathy to King of Saudi Arabia Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud following the suicide bomb blast near Al-Masjid an-Nabawi.
In his message, the President said he was deeply shocked to receive the news about the suicide bomb blast near Al-Masjid an-Nabawi causing the loss of life and instilling fear to the people of Saudi Arabia, as well as to the visiting pilgrims. He said the Government and the people of the Maldives condemned this act of terror in the strongest terms, and expressed firm solidarity with Saudi Arabia in all its efforts in maintaining the peace. The President also extended deepest sympathy and full support to the King, the Government and the people of Saudi Arabia, and conveyed condolences to the members of the bereaved families on behalf of the Government and the people of the Maldives, as well as in his own name.
