UKIP leader Nigel Farage stands down

Leader of Britain's anti-European Union UK Independence Party UKIP Nigel Farage says he will stand down after having realised his ambition of winning last month's referendum in favour of Brexit.

He said that he has never been, and never wanted to be, a career politician and that his aim in being in politics was to get Britain out of the European Union. Farage said that he feel it’s right that he should now stand aside as leader of UKIP.

Britain voted on June 23 to leave the European Union, plunging the country into its biggest political crisis of modern times.
