Bangladesh PM resolute to fight militancy: Indian HC

Indian envoy Harsh Vardhan Shringla said Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was resolute to fight militancy as she paid homage to the Dhaka restaurant attack victims on Monday.

Hasina along with families of the victims gathered at an army stadium to pay homage to people killed in the terror attack on Friday that left at least twenty people dead.

Shringla said that Hasina met the victims' families and asked them to be strong in the time of grief.

Meanwhile, Italian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Mario Palma said that there was a need to unite to fight terror.

Gunmen stormed an upmarket restaurant in the diplomatic zone late and killed their mostly non-Muslim hostages, including nine Italians, seven Japanese and a citizen each from the United States and India.
