Maldives recorded USD 22.7 million in export revenue in March, registering a nine percent increase from the same period last year, Maldives Customs Service figures have shown.
According to the customs figures, the country recorded an exact amount in imports in March of 2025 and the year before with USD 285.3 million.
The highest imports came from the United Arab Emirates, India, China, Singapore and Sri Lanka, with food, fuel, machinery and electronics leading the items category.

India: USD 46.2 million
China: USD 33.3 million
Singapore: USD 23.1 million
Sri Lanka: USD 16.1 million
Despite registering no change in the amount of imports, Maldives, in March saw a significant increase in exports compared to the same period last year.
In March, exports were valued at USD 13.2 million, which is 65 percent more than the USD 8 million in March 2024.
The majority of exports in March were to Thailand, Britain, Vietnam, Bangladesh and Germany.

The major exported commodity in March was fish products, led by frozen and canned skipjack tuna with a combined value of USD 10.4 million.
