Brazil’s Havaianas Opens First Outlet in Maldives

Globally renowned flip-flop brand, Brazil’s Havaianas has opened its first outlet in the Maldives capital, Male’.

The store was officially inaugurated during a ceremony held on Sunday evening by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Mohamed Saeed.

The brand has been brought to Maldives’ shores through a partnership between Providence Private Limited and Brazil’s manufacturing firm Alpargatas.

Speaking to PSM News, Providence Pvt Ltd’s Director Mohamed Haanee acknowledged the high demand for the Havaianas brand in Maldives, especially in tourist resorts.

Haanee said the outlet in Male’ would offer a wide range of flip-flops and accessories for men, women and children.

"Havaianas will import directly from Brazil. The prices of the products available here will be cheaper than in other countries," he added.

Hanee added that in the coming days, Havaianas products will be distributed to various islands and resorts across the country while a website is being designed to sell Havaianas products wholesale.

Havaianas has been spreading the Brazilian spirit around the world since 1962 with its iconic rubber sole and bright, colorful and summer-infused designs. With flip flops sold in over 100 countries, Havaianas has become synonymous with modern flip flops.
