Nominations open for RTI Award

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICOM) on Monday opened nominations for the Right to Information Award. The award would be presented to a government agency or institution that demonstrates outstanding commitment to the RTI Act, ICOM said.

Information Commissioner Abdul Azeez Jamaal Aboobakuru said the award titled “Mauloomaathu Haamakurumuge Ran Vana” was instituted to encourage government agencies and institutions to provide correct and complete information to the public. The recipient of the award would be announced at a function to be held to mark the International Right to Know Day.
