President Dr Mohamed Muizzu extended his greetings to the Head of State of Samoa, Tuimalealiifano Vaaletoa Sualauvi II and Prime Minister Fiamē Naomi Mata’afa to commemorate the occasion of the Independence Day of Samoa.
In a message on his official X account, the President highlighted this celebration of Samoa as a reminder of the determination to safeguard freedom and sovereignty and chart the country's course of development for all future generations.
He also emphasised as small island developing states, Maldives and Samoa have shared challenges that can elevate cooperation to find shared solutions bilaterally, as well as on multilateral platforms.
In separate letters sent to the Head of State and the Prime Minister of Samoa, President Dr Muizzu also extended warm greetings and heartfelt wishes of the Government and the people of the Maldives to the Government and the people of Samoa.
Concluding his letters, the President conveyed his best wishes for the good health and happiness of the Head of State and the Prime Minister, as well as for the further prosperity and progress of the people of Samoa.
